Dell is increasing revenues at the expense of other box makers. If there were such demand for new PC's, Dell would not have to get into pricing wars to eek out this gain. The other box makers would be seeing increasing sales too.

Does that sound like blow out due to XP? Not to me, BWDIK?

As for MU. The reason DRAM prices are up is that there are less chips being made. Blow out pc sales coming? ROFLMAO! Uh huh! Sure!

So what move the market up from here?
Options expiration
Everyone wanting to jump on the train (we're getting blow out earnings coming! Don't miss out!)

Let's see. Amat came out and the news wasn't great.
Ntap didn't have a peachy outlook either.
Now we have Dell.

The recovery is coming, but it's obviously not going to be robust and quick.

I think I'll buy on the next pull back, thanks.

Dell was quite clear that this is the expectation for their business, not the industry's. They said they expect industry unit shipments to be flat this Q.

That's not good for INTC, not good for the memory makers, and not good for the cap equip guys.

Intel has other sales channels other than large boxmakers. Listen to their last earnings cc for more information on this--there was growth in this area last quarter. I have some notes on this but lost them.

I think we will find out on December 6--mid-quarter business update. It will be interesting to see how Intel stock reacts as we head into that date.
My prediction is that the stock will be at least around current levels on Dec 6 -- maybe higher as good news will be anticipated...

Now what will be interesting is what happens to memory prices after the Dell comments. I doubt we will have anything more than a slight dip, even if that.

Intel update and memory prices will tell the real story about PC demand this quarter. I am betting it will be bullish.

These are my predictions and of coure I could be wrong.
