There are 4 horse only slaughter houses in the US that do nothing but slaughter horses. One of the saddest days I have lived was going to a horse auction and a huge black gelding, out of draft horse breeding and so gentle that a 2 year old was riding him got sold to a slaughter house. No place to keep him then. We just bought back a nice paint mare that was headed to slaughter.
