Considering that Zionism began in the 1880s, the State creation idea was not the result of the Holocaust, but a convience to carry it forward. Holocaust even today serves as an excellent tool for justification for doing to others what we (US government) will not allow others to do. How long have Jews lived in Palestine? If the Arabs wanted to kill Jews, they had numerous years to kill them, did not they? Whether there is a Church on every corner is not the issue, America is not a Chrsitian country, although the majority of Americans identify themselves as Christians. Say that is a Christian country and you will have a fight on your hands. What I am saying is that folks employ religious faith and commandments/requirements as entertainment or as a social club identity.
