sorry for the sarcasm, pb, couldn't resist. but, turbulence wise, i seem to recall a rash of 'wind shear' incidents a couple years ago(?) funny how these phenomena come and go. haven't heard of wind shear lately. otherwise, it sounds as if the damn thing really did just fall apart. granted, shoddy workmanship is a mundane excuse, but, occam's razor, you know? it happens.
