Yes I understood that. I guess the point I was trying to make was that because we have a law that is applied to a certain situation this does not necessarily make it a just law but it may be politically correct. There are times when common sense should apply but for the most part our use of common sense has been taken from us and replaced by laws deemed necessary to protect special interest groups. You said...." Having participated in anti-war demonstrations during the Viet Nam War, I don't believe that I, personally, was motivated by treason or sedition. My opinion, at the time, was that we were not fighting the war to win, and so we should not be fighting at all. I still believe that. It's not fair to the US military to put them into a situation where they are hobbled. The Viet Cong were able to go into neighboring countries like Cambodia, and our military was not. Our military was not even allowed to invade North Viet Nam. I thought that was wrong. Further, I had zero respect for President Johnson."..... Had the USA declared war on this occasion as they have now declared war on terrorism? When you were protesting were you aware of all the restrictions put on US military or are you writing the above with the benefit of hindsight. You also said..." I have even less respect for President Clinton. Is that treason?" No, don't think that would be considered treason. If I remember correctly the Chinese liked him a lot and didn't some of them sleep over at the White House ? I think slick willy also was a Vietnam war protestor but not real sure. I think he also left the country to avoid draft or something like that......no having little respect for bill clinton IMO is not treason. Lorne
