Good points, Tim. I do think that the hurt of racism is easier for us to imagine, than is the case with trying to imagine what it must be like to have a new life grow within your body. The latter brings actual physical changes as well as emotional ones, and I think it is very hard for a man to be able to fully appreciate the totality of that experience. At the same time, "it takes two to tango," and therefore men do have a vested interest in a normal pregnancy, which is recognized even in the law. So it is not out of line for us to take positions on abortion issues.
