damn! Downstairs is squishy here too. Unfortunately "surface" water damage isn't covered by insurance.

Let me know if I can help. I'll be in town tomorrow.

Heading out to the lake to move the dock out. Now they're saying it will rise at LEAST 14 ft and most likely more

at least your cable is working!

That is a sheetload of rain. I am so sorry to hear about your flooding problems. Often in a situation like that there are so many people waiting for help that you can't get someone in to fix stuff. It's good you got things professionally dried out at least a bit early in the game. Good luck.

So sorry to hear about your flood. I was in Houston for the early June floods and gained great respect for Texas weather and Texans. I hope any continuing rainfall misses your neighborhood. . .

Peach,

Sounds like a mess. I have never been in a flood situation. I cannot imagine what you are facing.
(better let Lost1 help out...he's a good egg!!!)

Ouch.....that sux.

I hope you get back to normal life pretty soon.

My aunt called last night. She lives alone at Daytona Beach, Florida, in a beachside condo and was in tears. She has had the same problem, third time in the past 18 months. Poor lady broke down and wept on the phone for half an hour....

Lordy! You're holding up better than I would.

In my BBS days, a pipe burst while I was gone, and the whole basement had about two inches of water in it. Enough to fry 12 video cards, a handful of modems, and a couple of motherboards.

I can't begin to imagine what 13 inches of rain would be like. But I do remember the floods of many years ago. Going across the Missouri and getting to it several miles before the bridges.

Has the water at least receded to where it's not coming back in under the doors?

And I take it you've got no basement? Probably a heckuva good thing.

Oh Peach, I'm so sorry to hear that. Our lake house flooded once with "surface water" and insurance did not cover damage. Fortunately we just happened to be there when the flooding began and were able to move furnishings, but we still had several inches of water standing on the lower level....oh well I didn't like the color of that carpet anyway. <vbg>

Good luck, 13 inches of rain is incredible!

Difficult situation. The CPU is an interesting oddity, is it a tower? Also, how long did you let it dry out before you turned it back on?

Hope things are better, now, in the morning

Peach,

So sorry to hear that. We had our window wells in the basement cave in during a flood four or five years ago.... a foot and a half of mud, water, insects, and god knows what else in the finished basement.....

Insurance doesn't cover that stuff unless you separately buy the federal flood insurance (if you can).

I hope you didn't lose anything of sentimental value....the other stuff can be replaced.

Good luck to you.
