Jim, Re: "Looks AMD is in big trouble...They will need a couple hundred extra Mhz by then or else..."

I think I'll actually have to bookmark this.

It's one of your rare, but brief, lapses back into reality.

Make sure you savor the feeling.

Re: Looks AMD is in big trouble...They will need a couple hundred extra Mhz by then or else...

It's amazing, isn't it? For the past 3 years, in about 3 quarters out of 4, AMD is the company shipping the most powerful processor that is fastest on applications. Right now, Athlon XP1900+ beats P4 2000 on just about every application - sometimes by very large margins, but once again, "next quarter" it will all be different.

Every quarter, Intel is supposed to be faster "next quarter".

But "next quarter" never seems to come....

Jim, <Looks AMD is in big trouble...>

Another McFlipFlop? (Just kidding. ;-)

<They will need a couple hundred extra Mhz by then or else...>

No problemo, they'll just respond with a couple hundred extra ModelHertz. Remember, "they'll have a model 10,000 by the time Intel reaches 10 GHz." LOL!
