Maybe at least a bb-gun to discourage the herons. Someone once told me it's illegal to kill them, as the great blues are endangered. I haven't been able to confirm that. I suspect they're not really. They just all live at my place. We've got lots of tall birches at the lake that they nest in and this year I've seen about a dozen different babies. Supposedly, only 1 out of 3 survives its first year. Ahh. Just found on a website that decoy herons will discourage them. Good. Now I gotta find some decoys.
