The poorest Afghans in Kabul were exchanging pictures of Bollywood actresses after liberation by the Northern Alliance. And the music playing was Indian film music. The poorest indians prefer programs in their local languages. Hollywood movies are barely watched by 5-10 percent of the population. The local Indian TV channels are full of slick programs. The only English language movies that have avid watchers, even in remote villages in the Himalayas, are porn movies. Even that may change.
