9/30 Institutional Holding are out. I usually look at Merlin, Orbimed and BVF.

Any other funds biofreaks pay attention to?

Conference calls are great. Presentation webcasts come in a close second, although I'm tiring re. the glitches.

I hate the level reg. Fd playing field. It's really hurt the little guy who got legal guidance re. hidden but public stuff, and who knew IR personnel who were sincere in communicating re. morale. Give me Agouron -- where communications were ethical, legal, and timely -- any day. Sigh. The advantage now falls clearly to big-budget research operations.

There are some companies where IR has gotten so bad that it should just be done away with. I was continually promised -- in particular by one company that begins with "V" -- that abstracts would arrive in my email the minute that they became available to the public. I got nada, and had to rely on a network of friends and posts to SI and Yahoo.

IR budgets should be cut to bare bones. Companies should hire a high school student, part time, to stuff investor's packets into envelopes and address them. ML guys/gals et al. will go to the CEO or CFO, and any IR rep who says more than "I dunno" will invite a lawsuit. It's the organizations that maintain a "yes, I'll do it" attitude and yet don't deliver that bug me.

I agree. The conference calls have become more important. As have the investor conferences.

I am a fan of Reg FD. Do I think that I am on equal footing? I'm not that naive and I'm not a fool (no pun intended). Analysts still visit companies and talk with management. It's not a stretch for me to think that information "leaks" out now and then. ; )

When I make lousy investment decisions, I just remind myself that Biotech is a tough sector to invest in and keep plugging away. That helps...a little.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We are in the midst of a mini-heatwave here in Mid-Michigan (no laughs from CA folks!).
