Unfortunately, I think so, too. Otherwise AMD should not yet be sold out of two Athlon XP speed grades, as Andreas reported in an earlier post.

How does this differ from my "a"? (unexpectedly high consumer demand)

How about P-4 low K process causing low yield and splits.

Covered by: d) Supply problems from Intel, causing consumers to buy AMD instead, creating a shortage of AMD parts.
