Ratan:

Democracy and voting power could ultimately bring about woman power and women in power. Woman's vote is a big factor in all elections. Politicians try to take that into account.

Strangely, women politicians in the Indian sub-continent have had more success than any other part of the world. Granted their power stems from their family ties. Examples include Indira Gandhi in India, Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan, Srimao Bandarnaike and her daughter Kumaratanga in Sri Lanka, Hasina Wajed and Ms. Zia in Bangaldesh. However, the progress for the common woman is still slow in the same countries.

>>I hope the women tale this opportunity to not only express their views but to AGGRESSIVELY get involved in the politics of Afghanistan (women in Pakistan and other Arab and Muslim countries dont wait for Bin Laden type defeats to RISE and TAKE CHARGE!) and make sure they are NEVER EVER FORCED to wear a burkha again or Forced to stay uneducated and unemployed. And if you cant stand those dirty ugly beards on your men, make them shave it off>>
