He was the NBR market monitor guest and this time thinks the Naz is going to 2911 in the next 12 months (that's right, not 2910 or 2912, but 2911!). The previous prediction I think was for 3943 on the Naz, to happen this past September (from memory, I might have that wrong). He likes technology here, and as he pointed out, his methods are "strictly mathematical". Here is the link:nbr.com On Marketweek, one guest mentioned that you want to buy the semis when they look expensive (i.e. now) and sell them when they look cheap. (i.e., careful with those numbers!) Kevin McKechnie of Pimpco likes JDSU here. The other guy likes SANM (I own both). Also Maria pointed out there are rumors that companies will be ordering more fiber optic gear in the near term. The recent rise in JDSU and GLW seems to fit with this view. I went to the Pimpco site, and looked at Kevin's Global Innovation fund, and noted AMAT and KLAC were listed as top holdings. Of course the top holdings info is always a bit behind. Here is the link:pimcofunds.com (click fund information, then global innovation, class, A, etc.) FWIW, I am still nibbling here, bought some NUFO yesterday. It is trading at about cash value. Certainly risky, but momentum at least is looking good here. I played this before short-term and made money on it. I may buy back some GLW and add to JDSU a bit early next week. I also just bought back half of the SNDK I sold in the mid 20's. It is selling just over two times cash now, and I think may have a really good run when the economy rebounds, an early mover I hope. They sell flash memory cards for cameras, etc. Right now the earnings outlook is very bad. One more comment from the Marketweek show - lots of cash on the sidelines now that could potentially come into the market. I wish I knew whether or not the rally continues. Certainly we are up against some resistance here. I am still going with the bullish view, at least for now. FWIW, the end of November is typically a good time to be in tech stocks. Of course last year the opposite was true. Lastly, FWIW, I went back to the AMAT thread before we went over the cliff, and thought I would re-post a bullish input here, just for interest or perspective. I just grabbed one at random. The link is below. Have a nice weekend AMAT folks. JohnMessage 13237037
