Ban Ban MindBlo - nFarce looks like another AMD SWEET !!! failure !!

No Full Force For nForce

DigiTimes Reports :

Considering the relatively high prices of the chipsets, several board makers have decided not to introduce related products to the price-sensitive retail markets. The nForce chipsets are quoted at prices higher than the previously estimated US$45 making nForce motherboards the most costly products on the market, even more expensive than Intel 850-based products. In addition to prices, the specifications and the launch delay have also made it very difficult for board makers to position the latest products.

The falling prices of the GeForce series caused by recent roll-outs of other new products simply made the nForce boards seem even more expensive and less attractive to consumers. Motherboards equipped with graphics chipsets are usually regarded as low-price products. Given that nForce has not obtained Intel’s license and its supporting AMD platform also targets the lower-end sector, the price/performance of nForce line is hardly satisfying. A7N266 from ASUS, GA7NTX from Gigabyte and NV22 from Abit will be introduced in December.
