State Unemployment Trust Funds : -- Intraday -- Labor dept figures show that 23 states do not have enough cash to pay a year's worth of unemployment benefits in a slumping economy, according to the Employment Policy Foundation. 3 states - TX, NY, and ND, have only enough to pay unemployed people for 4 months. Report states that if unemployment rates were to rise 1 or 2 more percentage points, as many as 35 funds could be pushed into insolvency.
