That's why MSFT has submitted C# to ECMA for standardization. What independent body is working to standardize Java?

The basic technology is good, creating by Anders Hejlsberg, but his records show that good basic technology isn't what makes it win. >> Don't know, but the author makes a good case for it. And Bill has a good point about standardization. MSFT has won almost every battle they've entered and I highly suspect that they'd like to put Java on the backburner. Speaking of winning battles, I went to Office Depot yesterday and the number of PDA's on display that run Windows was far greater than the PALM OS PDA's. This is a huge change from just a few months ago. MSFT is starting to overtake PALM in the PDA war and eventually I think they will win this market decisively. PALM struggles to turn a profit and avoid bankruptcy and MSFT has piles of cash to put into this battle at this time. They'll win, once again. IMO, Dave
