The Balfour Declaration was predicated on Bible stories

Not at all; it was predicated on the political objectives of some very much alive Zionists. Those objectives were based on the over two thousand years of Jewish culture and history that came after the Bible stories.

The Arabs fled Palestine for the same reasons that the Afghanis fled Afghanistan in the past month...WAR!

True enough...a war the Arabs started, vowing to drive the Jews into the sea with a great slaughter.

Now, it will be interesting to see if those refugees are allowed to return to Afghanistan.

They will return when there is peace. One big difference is that no matter how totally f---ed up Afghanistan gets we know that no one will remove it from the map. With Israel, one loss, that's it. Also, the Arabs would never make peace; Israel was in a state of war with ALL the neighbors for over forty years. If there had been a peace the refugees could have returned.

Ben Gurion basically said, we're damn stupid if we let the Arabs back to fight us the next time; they made their choice. If he had been able to see into the future and see that the Arabs hated Israel SO MUCH that they would keep their self-proclaimed "brothers" penned up in refugee camps for over FIFTY years rather than let them settle anywhere but Israel, he might have decided differently.
