It's more than the money, Jagfan. I look on it as a two-way street. Just tonight my boss told me what a valued employee -- and team player -- I am. We had a staffing problem at work. One of the boys in my department has to run up to Michigan or Wisconsin to see his dad, who just underwent a major operation and ain't doing so well. Even though I'm off all next week on vacation, I said I'd come in the day before and day after Thanksgiving to keep the "assembly line" moving. As I was leaving, my boss said, "Thanks, Flap (not my real name). I appreciate your dedication." It's amazing how much work you can get out of employees if you treat them with a little respect.
