Techie, MTP has been a primarily a telecom company for the last 2-years. I traded it in 1999. They have 18000 miles of fiber, and they had the unfortunate consequence of being valued as a power company in the .com era and missed the bubble valuation they could have had.

They were quite a pioneer in broadband, like Enron. However, like ENE, they're dealing with overcapacity and plunging rates, which is adding strain to their debt service. They may not survive, but what they're doing is not new or recent.
