I was badly influenced as a young pup. We would caddy at a course a few miles away. There, the guys would drive up in expensive cars, play golf weekdays as well as weekends. Stop after 9 holes and have lunch...sending lunch out to us as we waited... Our father never could do any of that stuff. We decided it was a better idea. Then after I was married I found out that, in her family, if someone liked something they bought six of them. One for each family branch and a spare. It was a fait accompli. At long last I became accustomed to living in the style to which I had decided to become accustomed.
