Yes, due to the tax advantage, corporations try to hold for the minimum time period, which is now 45 days. The standard, not too bright, way of doing this is to buy 45 days before ex and then punt the stock on or near ex date. Which means many dollars are exiting at the same time.

There are still dividend stocks. Unfortunately, I can't name them in public any more.
