Robert, I am hopeful that with Putin and Bush getting cozy, and the likelihood of the Central Asian oil fields being developed and routed thru Afganistan, the era of the brutally oppressive arab regimes may have finally run its course.

It is indeed possible that the latest homegrown arab master terrorist, Osama bin Laden exposed for all to see the hopelessness of relying upon the Saudi's and the Egyptians to come thru when they are called upon, by the country that has saved their ass time and again.

I am hopeful that Bush Jr. isnt about to let these assholes make a mockery of his legacy, and that we may have finally turned a corner to sanity.

It is baffling that a figure as repulsive as Arafat is accepted into people's offices, and given the respect of a human being, when he is known to have ordered the killing of women, children, athletes, airline passengers, etc.

What world am I living in when this scumbag is hailed as a world leader?

Arafat is starting his shit again in the port city of Sidon in Lebanon;

with UN peacekeepers pulling out in masse, this can only mean one thing;

Syria and Lebanon is the next target;
after that, a base will be created to pincer Iraq:

UN TROOPS PULL OUT OF LEBANON AS TENSIONS MOUNT NEAR ISRAEL BORDER November 18, 2001

The World Tribune reports: “The United Nations is sharply reducing its peacekeeping force in Lebanon amid increasing tension in the south. So far, Finland, Ireland, Nepal and Sweden have pulled their troops out of southern Lebanon. On Tuesday, the last members of the 650-member Irish contingent left Lebanon. Lebanon has appeared jittery over the UN withdrawal. Beirut has urged the world body to maintain its peacekeeping and demining operations in southern Lebanon.
Over the last few weeks, southern Lebanon has been gripped by rising tension involving both Palestinian insurgents as well as Syrian laborers. The focus of Palestinian tension is the Ein Hilwe refugee camp outside of Sidon. A Lebanese military statement issued on Wednesday said army positions around Ein Hilwe have been repeatedly attacked. Hours earlier, attackers hurled grenades and opened with automatic gunfire toward an army post. No injuries were reported…”
