Nothing changes in Saudi Arabia except the oil will eventually run out.

CJ mentioned that the Saudi are not technically adept, but there has been an effort bring them around. I agree Saudi Arabia differs from some of the characteristics of a Third World Nation, but I believe the parameters are still prevalent enough to see them as such.

"Whatever price was paid prior to 1973 is not relevant today. Aramco was nationalized shortly after 1973 and is owned by the Saudi government now not a consortium of international companies."

It is, in the sense that it has been a relatively short time since Saudi Arabia has started on their road to "democracy" and a free open society. As far as the Government is concerned, they are not competent and have been and continue to be "sold a bill of goods" by Western advisers. And now they are broke.
