Westi, old sort, I think you put that post up about Carly and Walter because you are short CPQ. I just noodling here, but you must realize that the more publicity given to the reasons why Walter is against the merger, the BETTER for the merger. (I do notice from your profile that you are a person of Dell-American descent.)

He does not like firing people, who does, except that HP has 88.5 THOUSAND employees--that's too many. (When Dave and Bill were running things there were about 40,000 with "Agilent") He thinks this merger is about the PC business--big mistake. He had to cancel his social plans to attend the most important board meeting hp has ever had--he was on the Board when they voted to spin off the CASH COW, agilent. And he can't read a balance sheet to tell him that the printer business is DECAYING because of LACK of CURRENT printer sales, not ink and toner.

If you don't sell the printer today it is very hard to sell the refil cartrige later, so current printer sales are a guaranteed precursor to future printer revenue.

well that's the kind of dedicated loyalty I want running MY money!!!!

And the press doesn't understand the deal so they want to make it about personality conflicts and pcs, which they do understand, and Carly thinks that's STOOPID

And anyone who understands the business does too.

Soo, you keep reminding us that Walter is against the merger.

:))
