Maui, thanks for the article. Kevin Krewell was actually the host for the Microprocessor Forum last month. He's an interesting person, with a lot of insightful ideas, and my impression is that he's eager to remain on the cutting edge.

It seems, possibly good for Intel, that he has a lot of faith in the future of IA-64. While he jokingly added a few digs during his chance to speak after the presentations, it appears that he is willing to give Intel more credit than his persona originally suggested.

"In-Stat/MDR believes Intel will be able to successfully navigate this transition just as some of its competitors have done in the past with their products. Unless IA-64 fails miserably in performance, we expect Intel will have no problem gaining a dominant share of the high-end market by the end of 2003."
