allan,

i am an e-wave neophyte relying on support, resistance and volume to craft my trading plans. i would be interested in reading on e-wave basics and if you could point me in the right direction i would be greatly appreciative.

that being said, certain fundamental parameters effect my interpretation of charts. my historical market views with regard to secular trends and valuation have been stated in prior posts. i also use supply/demand characteristics, seasonality, sentiment and trading patterns.

My major thought at this stage is that this week is crucial in that mutual fund performance hangs in the balance. if the bulls are able to sustain momentum this week, and they do have the upper hand at this point, then performance through the end of the year becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. fund money will continue to pour in through the end of the year as many chase that elusive positive year. the books will also need to show that they have participated in the rally. this brings in more money and allows another attempt at the ponzi scheme to reexpand. this has always been a hallmark of a greenspan induced liquidity rally, particularly at the end of the calander year.

the last three months of the year are always about momentum...up or down. this is directly related to fund performance and tax consequences. so if history is our guide, this rally should extend to Christmas.

do you ever incorporate any fundamental metrics when analyzing and extrapolating your data. if so, is this reflected in the charts you just posted.

thx in advance and regards

I assume you know that Chris Carolan has December 12 as the final bull market high; intriguing that you came up with December 11. Awesome stuff.

FYI, Friday was a 55-day turn, FWIW.

your scenario kind of correlates with the currency markets (rally in € by January) even that as of this evening there is no help <GG>
