Re: Europe is largely irrelevant on the issue, as they tend to cave-in rather than take a principled position (either USSR/detente talks, Balkans or Middle East, they are spineless..However they do despise Arabs and fear Islam more than US...Surely they will double-cross Arabs when they can...Arafat will be ditched soon you think? Actually, both Europeans and Israelis are afraid of their own Fascistic impulses... That's why we see much gesticulations in Israel aimed at maintaining the status quo, that is, Israel/US vs Europe/Arabs/Palestinians. As I said, such is a hypocritical, phony confrontation, yet a very useful one nonetheless. After all, just imagine a world where the US would bluntly side with the Arab world --combining technology, buoyant demographics and moral leadership-- against a Eurasian runner-up epitomizing Neofascism, cultural bigotry, and both moral and demographic decay.... Now, regarding the latest developments in the Middle East, what's the bottom line? Simple: it's once again up to Uncle Sam (remember, that hated Nemesis of the Arab world!!) to eventually grant the Palestinians their longed-for sovereign state... and what were the Euros useful for, in the whole scheme of things?? Zilch... Of course, smart Israelis like Sh. Peres and his leftist constituency sense the danger looming out of such a Eurasian alliance between Europe, Russia and Israel: without America's drive for multiculturalism and freedom, Israel will get drowned in Judeofascism and Arab hostility will turn into the so-called "clash of civilization".
