These are the same groups that China had tried to suppress for the last 10 years, but with limited success, due to American and European against human rights abuses and US government threats of sanctions and the primary reason for keeping China from joining World Trade Organization or joining the world community.

Chinese government's support for global anti-terrorism is internally played down and hardly mentioned within China. It is intended to keep those groups from getting reactive and become militant. China cannot afford to spend and waste resources to fight destructive elements within their own country.
