Israel wait, with baited breath, for the Arabs to let them off the hook. The Zionists needed paupers, traumatized, emaciated and often broken in health refugees to make their case. Even after these same refugees were "safe" in Palestine, they were pawns in the game. Britain had extended immigration to European Jews, but that was not where the Zionist leaders wanted "their" people to go. Palestine or death was the option, basically. Must go...manana.
