More boats that aren't buying Globalstar. I just received this from a niece who is in this boat race: <iridium is up and going well in the canary island. 250 crusiing yachts have gathered to set off together across the atlantic in the ARC race, finsihing in SAnta Lucia in the caribbean. and all the boats i have talked to have just bought a new motorola iridium handset so they can catch if they want on the way.havent seen any globalstar, i looked for their promotional material amongst the iridium stuff but nope. > I suppose they'd be a bit lower in the Atlantic, for some of the trip anyway, than Globalstar covers. But it's annoying that Iridium is doing well and Globalstar is nowhere to be seen. Incidentally, I clicked on the advertisement for Globalstar which just appeared in my Free Eudora advertisement and it was GMPCS, gmpcs-us.com = that's the link the advertisement takes you to, so there is some promotion going on. On the image in Eudora it also says to phone 877.SAT.PHONE. "Globalstar Satellite Phones Connect to your world 877.SAT.PHONE QUALCOMM plus a picture of the phone. Mqurice
