I don't get the impression Robbins Brothers caters to the high end at all. I think they're aiming mainstream young (obviously) adults.

I am guessing at this from right field. I have never heard their radio promotions, been in their stores or even talked with someone that has bought from them. My only knowledge is what they show and say on their web site. That is really limited and narrow. To be honest, I do not know enough about them to really make any judgement at all. The are private so no numbers are publically released. I could look them up in the JBT (Jewelers Board of Trade) but since I am not extending credit to them, it would not be ethical. Anyhow, the best margins are in the diamond part of the business. There is no question about that. That margins are dropping rather quickly due to the internet and the easy ability for the consumer to compare certified diamonds without having to spend weeks doing it. Other areas such as gold chain, charms, etc. have smaller margins now too but not the degree of drop diamonds had. By the way, Ashford.com was sold if anyone cares for 35 cents per share I believe. The only large pureplay still standiing in this industry is Bluenile. I hear from their press releases they are doing great. I hear from others in the industry they are not doing well. I know they are still losing money but am clueless as if they are making progress in reducing that. It is a KP deal too.
