Dear Mani:

++=I have chosen to not follow any organized religion. Criticizing the holy book, whether it is Koran, Bible or Torah is no allowed.

If you do not examine the very book upon which a religion is based on, and question what it teaches and promotes (in its entirety), then how can you possibly be following a particular religion? If I am not mistaking you consider yourself a Moslem, and yet you do not wish to question Quran's teachings (whatever they are and even if some of the teaching may bring pain and evil to this world). You sound very much like my good friend Mr. Alsuezi who says he does not question Quran's verses because he thinks they are from God and therefore he does not question God's wisdom!

My point is, if you consider yourself a Moslem you are admitting that you believe in everything that Quran (Islam's holly book) says (including for example the verses on wife beating, and killing of non-Moslems, etc.). Yet you are an educated peacful individual, and because of that you have chosen to ignore those specific parts of Quran that are about violence and destruction, and are negative. In essence you have selectively chosen to ignore some parts and accept other parts. But doesn’t this mean that really you are not a genuine Moslem for which you are not following all teachings of Quran?

I am just trying to understand. What would the message of Islam be then? Quran seems to talk from both sides of its mouth. Some parts are positive, and some parts are negative. In a way if you think about it, it is about human beings. As humans we are good, and yet we are bad. We are honest, and yet we lie and can be evil at times. I guess this may prove that Quran is indeed about human beings, and was written by human beings. At the same time, it proves also that it is not holly and pure for which it was written by human beings. How would Moslems feel about this? What then is Islam's message if Quran is to be ignored?

Anyway, on a related subject, and yet once again - you have indicated that you have read Quran twice from cover to the end, (certainly more than what Mr. Alsuezi who is a strong defender of Islam and admittedly has not read the Quran, as well as most other Moslems I have come across with). If you would comment and provide some intelligent response to the following posts, I appreciate it beyond I can possibly express:
