Roebear. Our small group here certainly will.

OTOH, one of the universal constants is we both know the average clown dog investor won't. It's just incredible to read some of the posts on a variety of other SI and Yahoo threads.

Swear some of em must sit in front of CNBC all day long wagging their tails as they listen to their "master's voice"!<G>

BTW, those were great photos. Thanks for including the url in your post. Sure hope we follow through and exterminate those insects.

Just glanced at the 10 day temp maps

grads.iges.org

When are you expecting the 1st hard freeze to hit? TIA

been doing a little bit o shoppin'.

This year -- every place wants to give you %10 - %20 off your first and or first or second trip there if you'll simply get one of their credit cards. I think it is a gimmick ... but sometimes prices have fallen on some things quite a bit from last year -- certainly seems true of clothes. The pain is -- u have to do it if you want the discounts. If we make a second trip to one of them which only had one discount -- I get one of their cards the first time -- my wife gets one the next time around -- LOL. I'll just call and cancel 'em after the holidays.

re: anyone else's observations from shopping etc in their areas

Went to buy my wife a new car for Christmas. The Toyota dealer didn't have what I wanted in stock, and couldn't find it anywhere in the State. Saw a Subaru I liked on Friday, went back on Monday to talk price, it was sold. Had to order a car and wait 3 weeks.

Everyone is remodelling, adding on, Home Depot is adding a second store in town. Last summer, every other home had a backhoe in the back yard.

All the fast food places still have Help Wanted signs.

I don't see the slightest hint of belt-tightening.

I can't explain it, given that the economy here is based on oil and tourism. Maybe it's a lag effect, no one yet believes we're really in a recession.
