An apology, I've not checked in for a while, so the delay. With regard to the past debate, it is almost like a lifetime away --- after the momentous intervening events. While some of my friends are still in an unforgiving mood [against the US highest Court,] I think it is moot. I did find the irony poignant, the State Right philosophy of the Right has been turning on its head, from the US highest Court to our current AG, who chooses to place his personal conviction ahead of his immediate duties and the long held beliefs of State Right, but I have digressed. Indeed, my view of President Bush has changed dramatically. Regardless of the circumstance, he has responded to the present challenge --- and he has the gray hair to prove it! It is pointless to argue if the moment has made the man or vice versa. The important thing is that he has responded well, even though not everyone is pleased. To go back to the previous lifetime, jury is still out. While the Right has accused the FLSC trying to usurp the mandate of FL Legistrature, the Left has accused the USSC throwing the election. This are interesting points for future historians and scholars. Let's hope their debates on such and other events will benefit future generations to come. In the mean time, in light of the psychological trauma at home and physical trauma aboard, this has become trivial for the time being. Suddenly, having dinner with your family, sharing a laugh with your (cyber)friends or even sharing a drink with a perfect stranger in a local pub is so much more relevant. Yes, we will have arguments, but let's hope our arguments are a bridge connection us and not a gate separating us. And I am not just referring to just Americans. I now think, for a humanity that is possible, understanding and respect are indispensible. take care, Bosco
