Jim Bob:

"What to do?"

The phrase, "be water," comes to mind (they've stopped running that Bruce Lee commercial, now if we can only get rid of Paula and Scott).

Short the builders now, short NANO, wait a bit and short the overpriced Naz stocks (JNPR, JDSU, CSCO?). It will be time soon to short retail--Dabum will you give us the secret sign?--just as soon as people realize that a million people out of work and 280 million people in shock will not buy high end houses, or even splurge on $3-5,000 for Xmas. Also, destination resorts and casinos should be weaker, too.

The brave can short NBR and RIG, imho, until they're teenagers. Who knows, NBR could become a preteen (10-12) before it's over.

Uh-oh, maybe you were asking me where to go long? Hmmmmmmm. That is a tough question, not many safe havens here. Aside from waiting to go long OSX and E&Ps, maybe a beaten up Disney or grocery chain?

We're on the same page with the VIX, amigo.
