I saw that possibility before 9/11. And I see it now. I think we can get one more major rally going before a return to the bad old days. Slow or no growth, up oil, bust housing, plus a whiff of inflation could do this market in for quite awhile. The valuation question will start to raise its ugly head. My market maven at the NY exchange is sure we will break 10k soon and move up to 11k. I have my doubts about 11k but even assuming 10,500 that should bump nasdaq up to and perhaps over 2000 to about 2100 or so. Amat probably will stall out tops at 45 but probably at 40.
