quite right -- don't think you can read that as deflationary by itself -- but look at the prices of appliances, furniture and autos -- they certainly aren't going into the stratosphere either

Frank. Major furniture store had ad on the tube

that caught my attention last night: "No payments till 2004!"

Wonder what dunder head banker floor planned than one?!<lol>

The way some families treat furniture these days, a lot of medium grade merchandise is shot after a few years of heavy use. Whaddaya think'll happen when time comes to pay for something that is ready for the Salvation Army truck to pick up instead?

Instead of no payments by 2004? How bout ....NOT PAYMENTS EVER !!??

Let's face it. This entire house of cards credit merry-go-round is reaching the point of the absurd.
