Jacob, Up until recently my basic guidelines were to book profits or take losses in the 5% to 10% range. I've never posted a detailed explanation of how I trade, nor could I really, because most of my moves are based on gut feel. As you pointed out, recently I've moved to very short term trades because of what I perceive to be increased risks swing trading today. I simply believe that AMAT is overvalued here, and when coupled with their recent earnings report/weak guidance and overhead resistance, the probability is that she'll move lower in the short-term. I then pick my spots by watching the day's trading and hope I get lucky.
