LSI getting hammered.This is why,from briefing.com<<14:16 ET LSI Logic (LSI) 16.99 -1.79 (-9.5%): Stock off sharply in an up-market; hearing that the reason is Michael Murphy's newsletter on Friday, which apparently detailed a scenario where ASIC-maker LSI Logic may become steadily less competitive down the road. Increasingly smaller circuit designs (0.13 and below) require correspondingly more expensive photomasks; LSI gets squeezed from above since at very high volumes it's more economical to design a custom chip rather than an ASIC, and gets squeezed from below by low-end ASICs that don't require a new mask set for each smaller design>>end quote
