Mike, But they make such great pea soup. <g> I may have to explain to your part of the country, but Andersen's pea soup is very popular in California. They also have cans they sell in stores, but the restaurant soup is the primo stuff.

PGE Employees Faced with Enron 401k Problems

PORTLAND (KPTV) -- Energy giant Enron has "locked down" the shrinking 401k accounts of PGE employees after their stock prices plummeted.
PGE's parent company decided to block employees of both Enron and PGE from selling off their company stocks within 401k plans. The 401k freeze effects 2,700 PGE and Enron employees.

Enron stock prices fell over 70 percent after they announced a third-quarter loss of $618 million last month. PGE's chief executive officer, Peggy Fowler, said the stock freeze was part of a change in retirement fund managers planned long ago. She did admit the freeze came at a bad time.

The huge losses are being traced to investment write-offs, which eventually caused the dismissal of Enron's chief financial officer. The losses are now being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
