And you completely misunderstand me if you think I think you are personally hateful and divisive. I think the thread is- and you only need to look at some of the comments to see that. I think it is an important distinction. Even if you approve of things I consider hateful and divisive, it does not make you a hateful and divisive person- unless of course you really hate people, then I guess you would be. But I hope you don't really hate people. I have no idea. Remember, all we know about each other here are the things we post. If you create a thread aimed at labeling and abusing people, it tends to attract hate speech. Not the kind of hate speech the supreme court talks about, but the kind that happens when groups get together to talk about other groups they don't like.

That doesn't make the people in those groups necessarily hateful, It only makes them human, and (imo) mistaken.

I think your thread is just fine. Anyone who says it's about hating people just doesn't know what she's talking about. The posters there don't hate people, only their ideas, as we perceive them.
