I don't remember providing any analysis of what I did a few weeks ago (maybe that's why you didn't understand it-g), but I did say that I've been actively shorting and covering since (and on occasion long, admittedly rarely)...

For the most part, since then, my expectation had been that this rally would be a "mini-April/May", and as we approached 80-100% of May/April levels, corrections would become more frequent, and would be equally as rewarding as long.. I remain convinced that the Sept. bottom was not THE BOTTOM, and as long as valuation remain as historically high as they are, I don't mind shorting and covering (today being as exception, perhaps even a mistake), for from this point on, from these levels over the next many months, its my belief that more money will be made short than long...until we put in a proper bottom

I also think the turn won't be so clear that it will be easy to catch...so a "short and cover" strategy (if you don't get the necessary caving) is not a bad one....kindof forgot that today...oh well..

I can't speak to your data and interpretations (3-9 months). I do believe, however, back testing using bull market signposts perhaps allow error, but respect a difference of opinion there.
