We have some good friends from Mexico who serve tequila and the sangrita in those little special glasses. The ritual is so much fun-- it's like rehearsing a musical number- first this, then that, nono!-- the lime the lime! Now the salt- here now this..
Stuff'll kill you. Byt the time you get the hang of it, you're on your face.

Then there is durian. Durian ice cream puts broccoli ice cream to shame. I I I have eaten it. And I have eaten real durian with X, who will claim she ate it, but she didn't. She SPIT HERS OUT.
I swallowed mine.
It was the Test of a Real Woman.
Do you know Hollister? She not only swallowed, she ate most of the durian no one else would touch. I think, though, that to impress us, she had her taste buds surgically removed before the SI picnic for just that reason.

I just realized how TOTALLY obscure and off the wall this post sounds. But that's ok.

<<some cultures eat horse meat, which I think I would eat if nothing else were available and I was starving.>>

There are 4 slaughter houses in the US that handle only horses. 800,000 a year total on average. The French eat most of them. So the next time you are in France and the meat looks a little redder.....
