Considering Poet is a woman and a mother, and that she has posted posts that reveal she really enjoys being a mother, and seems to be very devoted to her children, I fail to see how anyone could interpret her post as negative to mothers. I certainly think there is something wrong with defining women only as mothers, though. Just as defining all men as fathers is ridiculous. Adults can be parents and be wonderful and productive, or they can choose not to be parents and be wonderful and productive. Conversely adults can choose to be parents and be horrible parents and people, and adults can choose not to be parents and be horrible people.

I think I would prefer it if people who were going to be really bad parents, and there are quite a few of those people, would not have children (and by "bad" I mean people who abuse their children physically or psychologically, or who neglect their children). If we define effective personhood as being a parent, even people who are not suited for parenthood will feel a pressure to "join in". This is not, imo, a good thing.
