I have read that the fraction of TV Comedy writers who are gay is about 50,000% higher than the fraction of the general population that is gay. I believe this is from a New Yorker article I read recently.

Also in this article, the Sitcom Frazer was discussed. It told that the joke behind the jokes on this show is that Frazer and his brother are heterosexuals, but act like and portray the sensibilities of two gay men. This concept is howlingly funny to those in the know.
