Looks like we will hit the Dow 10,000 tomorrow morning. Futures up over 120 points.

If we keep getting these extreme readings, George, I agree a major and swift re-trace should be in order. I guess the operative word is "should".

This has to be orchestrated, as the average investor is not in on this market right now. The volume is low, often the gains are on gap-ups, and the indicators are screaming "stop the insanity."

The major brokerage houses have a huge stake in killing the bear. Many of them are hurting badly and will do anything to get the market up and prop up their earnings. Do they care about the long term implications? No. They never have, and never will. As long as they get everyone's money in December and January they'll be happy.

The after-Thanksgiving retail numbers will be important. The thing they won't provide is profits, and that will be taken as a positive also if they are up. Who cares if the retailers are selling at 40-50% off? They are making sales, and it worked for Amazon.
