I read quite a few stories about Alec researching the issue.
I have to agree with Jewel of the West. It seems to have been a very bad, very ill conceived joke. Of course you can perceive it anyway you like. But then you have to realize you have been on threads which advocated hanging Clinton (and the posters didn't seem to be joking at all, nor were they on late night). So you might want to think about that. Or not.
