And I don't know what it says about homosexuality, but I think nothing. Can you cite a biblical passage prohibiting homosexuality? I'm curious to see it.
I don't see a scripture citing that you cannot stand in the middle of the street naked and flog your dog until women and children scream, but it is prudent, is it wise, is it sin?
The Bible from the beginning says (Gen 2:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.)
Never in biblical history has man to man relations or woman to woman sexual relations shown to be normal or accepted. Even in the case of Sodom(Gen. 19:1-11)Lot had to make the determination to trust that God would not let the homosexuals who were trying to get his guest to come out, to take his daughter as he had offered. Even his own daughter was to be given up before the honored guests, that should tell you the seriousness of the acts they wanted to committ.
In speaking of evil or evildoers or wickedness in other Bible references, Sodom is also mentioned in : Jer. 23:14, Ezek. 16, 49-50, 2Peter 2:6-9, Jude 7, think they are not known?
Of course it is listed in Leviticus as an abomination. chap. 18: 22. Dictionary.com defines an abomination as : Abhorrence; disgust. A cause of abhorrence or disgust.
Homosexuality is dealt with-in "New Testement" context. In the book of Romans, Paul says:(chap 1)25: They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.
and again the the Corinthian and Galatian letters:
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
And 1 Timothy 1:10 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine
there is no reference in the Bible of any biological, constitutional, or hereditary third sex, but what is rooted in evil and sinful nature and rebellion. It never has been proven any different. |
