I am so glad you cleared this up. Because I could never remember Poet making any negative references to men in uniform. Just as she never made any negative references about mothers (why would she seeing how she is one)- but that didn't stop someone from assuming she had made some sort of negative reference.

I read that article twice and could find no negative references in it either. I found this part:
"Thomas Jefferson once said that freedom of speech "cannot be limited without being lost." Some of the enemies of
freedom are hiding in
caves in Afghanistan. Others are babbling out intolerant, narrow-minded perversions of what it means to be a "good
American" in newspapers
and on the radio and television. They have the right to express their opinions. But by encouraging an end to free and open
debate, they are
only calling their own love of liberty into question."

And if you notice the author does NOT say you will find "narrow minded perversions of what it means to be a good American" in uniform. He could have said that, because statistically there are probably people such as he describes in uniform, but he did not say that.
